Achaari chicken is a hot-sweet-sour Indian recipe which helps to rejuvenate your taste buds. This dish is mainly served as a main course. Its a very quick to cook recipe to satisfy your crave for taste .

Ingredients
- Chicken (400 gm)/cut into small pieces
- Mustered oil (4 tbsp)
- Mustered seeds (½ tsp)/for tempering
- Fennel (½ tsp)/for tempering
- Fenugreek seeds [ Methi (½ tsp)/for tempering
- Whole dried red chilli (1)/for tempering
- Salt (to taste)
- Onion (3 medium size)/finely chopped
- Garlic paste (1 tbsp)
- Ginger paste (1 tsp)
- Green coriander leaf paste (1 tbsp)
- Green chilli paste (1 tsp)
- Tomato (1 medium size)/finely chopped
- Cumin powder (1 tsp)
- Black pepper powder (½ tsp)
- Red chilli powder (1 tsp)
- Lemon juice (2 tsp)
- Turmeric powder
- Tamarind paste (2 tsp)
- Sugar (½ tsp)
Direction
1. At first we have to marinate the chicken pieces with lemon juice for 10-20 mns.
2. After marination we will add half of the quantity that means 1 tbsp of green coriander paste, green chilli paste and salt(to taste) in the chicken. Mix them very well with big spoon or best with hands.
3. When the marination is complete we have to fry them. For this we need to heat mustered oil in a pan. Make sure the oil is steamy hot.
4. Put the pieces into the pan one by one and fry them on moderate heat until it becomes golden brown.
5. Now drain the excess oil and put the fried chicken aside.
6. For making the gravy we will add mustered seeds, fennel, methi and whole dried red chilli, and they will poop up.
7. After tempering add chopped onion and saute them till becomes deep pink. Also add some salt to it.
8. Now add garlic paste and ginger paste, stir them well . Then add rest of the coriander paste and again give a fine stir.
9. Its time to put the spices one by one such as turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder pepper powder and mix them.
10. This is the time to add the chopped tomatoes and fry all the ingredients until it separates its oil.
11. When the gravy is almost done add tamarind paste, salt, sugar and stir the mixture.
12. Add the pre-fired chicken pieces and cook them for 10 mns.
13. We are ready to enjoy the tasty achaari chicken.
Tips : Achaari chicken is served as a main dish and it tests best with paratha, plain Indian flat bread(roti), naan or kulcha. You can also preserve ir for 4 to 5 days in refrigerator but it tests great when it serves hot.
